New stream life underwater photos
Through a lot of trial and error I've finally arrived at the right camera settings and techniques to take some really cool underwater photos of mayfly and stonefly nymphs and various larvae in their natural habitat--clear, wild trout streams. Some of them turned out really well, I thought... it's like a whole different alien world down there!
I put the new photos online here: http://www.troutnut.com/underwater/inverte...8mile_3_19_04_1
Here are a few of my favorites (these are shrunk to fit on the forum--the real pics are bigger):
I also made some desktop backgrounds for my site the other day if you're interested.

Jason - welcome to Wetpixel.
I love trout! Grew up trout fishing in the Sierra foothills and Eastern Sierra when I could get up there. My favorite trout: volcano creek golden!
Cheers

Below are a few of my favorites... again, not full-size.
Here's a Hendrickson nymph. This is one of my favorites so I made it into a desktop background too:
Here's a nice collection of Ephemerellid mayfly nymphs and caddis larvae in their rocky cases:
A big crayfish lurking under a rock:
A nice lineup of mayfly nymphs--I think these are Ephemerella invaria :
The other pics and larger versions are here . Enjoy.
