  1. Congrats on your first images!

To help us give you some better criticism, you should write which lenses you used, strobes (if any), camera settings, etc.

To me, it looks like you are shooting without strobes? If yes, try to get familiar with manual white balance, will give you a lot "better" colors (See: http://www.uwphotographyguide.com/underwater-photography-ambient-light-manual-white-balance ).

Another great thing to do (when you are not using strobes) is silhouettes, put your whitebalance on daylight or tungsten (for more blue colors), turn down your exposure compensation to expose the surface of the water, shoot away at people/fish/boats etc above you :)

A general tip, get super close and shoot slightly from below the level of your subject, that should help you out!

    Have fun,

ps. cave shot is by far my favorite!

  2. Thanks for the reply!

    I have a Nikon D7000, Nauticam NA-D7000V, Zen Fisheye 100mm dome, Tokinia 10-17mm, and a Sea & Sea YS-D1.

  3. Ah, you do have a strobe! Ehm, what I would suggest is the following:

1: Get crazy close, and then even closer! With the 100mm dome that should be easy!

2: Underexposure your images slightly and lighten up the foreground with a nice big dump of your flash, to do this, you should shoot in Aperture priority mode or preferably Manual. Why not just use the exposure comp in P mode? See nr 3

3: With the minidome you need to have an aperture of 8 or lower (meaning a higher number) to keep the corners of your image sharp

    Hope this helps!

  4. Yes it helps! I need to get over my inner chicken! Getting really close while being rocked back and forth by the current was a bit nerve racking with this new equipment in my hands! But I will. I have been shooting in manual mode and using the histogram to gauge my shots. I also have been shooting in raw and playing with the white balance in lightroom.

Will push them to the left a bit and increase the flash.

    thanks!
