Humongous Lembeh Nudi

  1. We ran across this nudibrach on the hull of the wreck in the harbor at Lembeh yesterday. The thing is huge, easily 14 inches long. This is shot with the Tokina 10-17. My first wide angle nudi. :-) Any one know the name and details? is it common?

  2. Hey Steve,

looks like Dendrodoris carbunculosa. Reef Creature ID Tropical Pacific says size up to 75cm(30in) !

    Cheers,

    Jim.

  3. Similar to this one which was easily 12-14 inches across.

  4. Nice. I've seen them in Raja Ampat, although never when diving with a wide angle lens - as only at night.

  5. I'm told this is also Dendrodoris carbunculosa. It's a juvenile and much smaller than the above examples. Shot in Hawaii in 30 feet.
