ULCS 1" diameter bouyancy arms and Stix floats?

  1. I have 2 of the old 1" diameter ULCS bouyancy arms (8" long) but need more bouyancy.

     

    How would the bouyancy compare using that bouyancy arm and Stix floats (coring out the inside to fit the larger size of the arm's shaft) compared to a standard 8" ULCS arm (which I would have to purchase) and Stix floats?
