Eye-Fi SD transmit through housings?

Anyone know if the Eye-Fi (Wi-Fi) types of SD cards will transmit photos to a PC from the camera within an aluminum housing while closed?

Yes, I've used that set up to transfer small jpgs to a ipad for pool shoots. It will not transmit from underwater but it will start to transfer as soon as you surface and a wfi connection is made.
