Olympus C-750/PT-018 housing - what strobe?

  1. Olympus C-750/PT-018 housing - what strobe?

I'm looking at buying an Olympus C-750 with PT-018 housing for underwater photography. My questions are:

    (1) What is the view of this particular camera as an underwater unit

    (2) What U/W strobe/arm etc would be a good fit for this combination without going over the top.

    Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

  2. How much are you talking with out going over the top?

  3. By 'over the top' I was thinking less than say around $500. In other words more 'entry level' rather than 'professional' level.

  4. Housing system on following URL provides TTL capability with the C-750 Olympus:

Ike, I had a look at this but I'm happy with the PT-018 housing that Olympus make. The Ikelite DS-50 strobe looks like it might be a good fit but it seems like the sync cord is hard wired into the Ikelite housing and would not work with the PT-018.

  5. You can be comfortable with any of the housings Olympus makes. DS-50 with Manual Controller shown on following URL is a very capable combination with the #9523.01 tray and handle assy:

Ike, thanks again. I'd prefer full TTL control of the flash rather than manual. Is this possible with the DS-50? The rest of it (arm etc) looks perfect.
