I just returned from the Galapagos, and enjoyed a type of diving that was new to me. It was fun, and pretty challenging for the photography. Here are a few photos from the trip.
Wow - hammerheads, eagle rays, seals, and a mola in one trip. You got some spectacular shots. Color me green
Could you share your setup for the shots of eagle rays? They are very well lit for what looks like wide angle at some distance
Thanks very much to both of you.
Troporobo, I was pretty close to the eagle rays in most of the shots in the set. I was using a Tokina 10-17 lens, and I had two Inon Z240 strobes.
Really nice set. I know how challenging it is out there. Were you liveaboard based? If you were, what was the diving at The Arch, and Wolf like. Did you get to witness any big schools of Hammers? The turtle shot is spot on.
Regards
Stew

Thanks Stew. I was on the Darwin Buddy liveaboard, and it was an excellent boat. The crew was great, and the food was surpisingly good. The diving around Wolf and Darwin was wonderful. That's where most of the hammerheads were, as well as large numbers of eagle rays and Galapagos sharks. There were lots of hammerhead sharks, but we only saw large schools a couple of times. The water and air temperatures were colder than usual for this time of year, and that might have affected the shark count somewhat.
I have never done a trip like this before, and I really enjoyed it. I plan on repeating the trip when I can.

Very nicely done your shots. My favorite is the turtle giving it a good depth and a 3D looking style.
