Cokin P series compatible filters - where to buy?

  1. Cokin P series compatible filters - where to buy?

Hey, guys. I'm looking for a source to buy Cokin P series filters for my INON strobes. B&H and Adorama have the CC30G and CC30C for sale, but they are all Special Order items. Since they are closed until April 14, I may not be able to get them before I leave on May 6 for Fiji.

Any ideas on where to find these filters online?

    Thanks!

  2. Unrelated, but if you need filters for the trip I can loan you my Lee set with holders.

  3. I had to buy 4" filters, then cut them down. I was also under a time constraint.

The resin did not cut well with scissors, but I was short on equipment. If I were to do it again, I'd use a glass cutter.

Also, I didn't find the Cokin holder did a very good job holding the filter snugly in place. I drilled a small hole in the corner of one of the filters, and am using a set screw now that bites into the plastic of the filter holder. I found no need to remove the filters during the dive.

  4. Ryan, did you have the filters falling out of the holders? Were they loose topside? They feel pretty snug in mine, but I haven't had them in water yet.

I'm also waiting for my special ordered filters to arrive, and my trip is looming. If nothing else, I'll use the lower strength filters that I have.

  5. There was definately tension, but I wouldn't call them snug.

It is possible I cut them down too much, but the little plastic arches that hold the filter in place made contact on both sides.

I had to buy optiflex 4x4 filters, since the color compensating Cokin filters weren't available here locally (I procrastinated a little). The Cokin P series may be a little thicker and offer more tension, too. I will have them for my next trip, especially since they are less than half of what I paid, and shouldn't require trimming.

I wasn't able to pull off Craig's sunrays, but the saphire color of the water was amazing...
