  1. St. John Info?

    Hey guys,

I'm taking my wife (non-diver) to St. John this year and was wondering if anyone has any great snokeling spots for us and diving spots for me. I might get her to take a resort course while we are there but I don't know. I almost convinced her to go to Wakatobi but I think it's too geared toward diving for her to have fun.

Thanks in advance for the info.

  2. Last time I went I stayed in the Rennaisance for 1 week, got on a sailboat (Antiquity at of Red Hook Harbor) for 10 days, then stayed at the Marriott Fisherman's Reef for the last week. The rennaisance has some snorkelling a short walk away; other than that, the snorkelling off the resorts was just ok. There are lots of places accesible by short boat ride, however.

  3. Hi Robert,

For your wife, ther are plenty of GREAT snorkkiesites on St. John. First try Trunk, Cinnamon and Maho Bay. If you get advenorous, try the other side, Goat Hill. There is also some interesting diving, but St. John is more of a snorkelig island, more shallow than what you look for in diving, but the beaches are most amazing... There is a dive business in Cruz Bay called Low Key, they can take you to some of the better dive sites. The best island to dive on in the USVI is absolutely St. Croix, so if you want to have some outofthisworld diving for a day or many days, you can take the ferry over to Charlotte Amalie, and hop over on the seaplane. You can even come back the same day, they fly low if you ask them (check to verify this with Seaborne airlines) and there is also a fast ferry that goes between Christiansted St. Croix and Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas. If it is diving you are looking for, then you don't want to miss visiting St. Croix! I won't write too much because it just so happen that I "bragged" about St Croix in another post just a little while ago (see the general chat/what do you... thread). In St. John, you are also very close to the BVI. Trips to the wreck of the Rhone can be arranged, just remeber to bring your passport along if you plan to do this. Hope you'll love it and post all aboot your adventures when you return!
