What to charge for website photos and dive centre prints.

  1. Hi guys,

Could anyone help me on the above, I'm on my first overseas assignment and my contract was to just provide a magazine with story and photos, but the dive centre requires some photos for their shop and website, as its a new venture for them. It's also my first time I've been in this position. PM me if you feel this a better option.

    Cheers

    Paul

  2. I've found myself in a similar situation and concluded that the right answer is something like "Whatever the market will bear...".

How are you travelling? On the client's dime, or your own? If you're travel expenses are covered, then the incremental cost to provide a few more images is minimal. You can always toss out a number and see what the reaction is...

And then post the results here so that the rest of us have a clue! ;-)

  3. First rule of price negotiation; get the other party to name their price first.

If its more that you thought, you can ask for more or take it.

If it's less, you can talk it up.

This works for any freelance skill or service.
