  1. Found these on sandy bottom in 4-5m off Criccieth in N. Wales - can anyone help with ID please?

  2. ribbon worm

    piddock clams

    sea pansy

  3. Yes to the first 2. The 3rd looks to me like the closed siphons of another clam.

  4. 1 is a harbour crab eating a ribbon worm (bottom right looks like there may just be a Labidoplax digitata sea cucumber too - which are locally abundant off Criccieth).

2 & 3 are probably siphons off razor fish (shells) (Family Solenidae) although your chances of finding out which one are slim. I've photographed them off Criccieth myself (by the way I'm running a beach clean for MCS this Saturday at 1.30pm in Criccieth if anyone is interested) and they often seem to be associated with Sagartiogeton anemones which may well fasten onto their shells here.

  5. Thanks folks.

Over in Connemara at the moment Paul, so can't help with the beach clean!
