Sportsfinder for compact DSLRs? Ike?

  1. Sportsfinder for compact DSLRs? Ike?

Wondering if anyone has been contemplating making an external Sportsfinder/Viewfinder for the new series of compact DSRs like the 300G or D70.

I'm quite nearsighted, wear contacts. One of the features of my old MMII was the great viewfinder they had, really was easy to frame with. These new viewfinders on the cameras seem quite small, even with the magnifier on the back of the housing.

I'm drifting towards waiting for the D70 & Ike housing. When will it be out? Any thoughts to the above?

    Jack

  2. Super-Eye viewfinder magnifier included with housing is one of the better designs, but these do reduce size of image so you can see most of viewfinder with a diving mask. The non-slr cameras allow you to see what you will photograph on their big screen, but then wait an agonizing amount of time while camera switches from viewing mode to capture mode when you take a picture. We will be shipping our D70 housing during April. http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/2dslr_d70.html
