Troubles with ULCS arm base adaptor on Aquatica handles
Hi Folks,
I'm getting ready to take my new Aquatica S2 housing for a test dive before I go to Thailand at the end of this month... I'm having some issues putting the AQ base adaptor on the grips. The holes on the base adaptors are just a hair off from the grips. I only have a couple of weeks to deal with this so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Hi Karen,
The new Aquatica handles have a different bolt spacing than the old ones, and this threw ULCS for a loop for a while. If you look in my S2 housing review, you'll see that I had to use a tie-wrap on the left handle w/ only one bolt.
ULSC has changed their equipments slightly - but they need to know you have one of the new Aquatica housings. I suggest dropping Terry at ULCS an email or call them - they have prompt and great service - and can get you what you need.
No sense letting something so small mess up your dive trip.

Yes, it was a bit irritating. Out of four handles, I got one to fit the ULCS adapter. I tie wrapped the other. You can also machine out the ULCS part with an end mill to get it to fit. I replace the tie wraps quite often as they do weaken over time.
I wasn't able to get replacement screws with my order. You can go the Home Depot route I suggested. You get a bag and can replace them often as they corrode quite quickly.
Whenever you bolt steel into aluminum, you should put some teflon plumbers tape on the screw. This will prevent contact of dis-similar metals which leads to corrosion.
