Inon D2000

  1. I posted in the beginner section without any response. Thinking this might be the better thread to post.

I would like to know peoples thoughts on the Inon D2000 4th generation strobes. Possibly going to set these up with the OMD. Is anybody using them, what is the coverage like, and would they com pear to 240z let's say.

  2. D2000 is an excellent macro strobe. sTTL really works via fiber optic cord. Wide, even beam with the diffuser. The z240 has a bit more punch for wide angle (guide number 24 vs. 20.) You can't go wrong with either one.

  3. Hi Eric,

I suppose either way if you are shooting wide, the name of the game is get in nice and tight. Its not like any strobe is going to light up a wreck of any sort. have you used the D2000, would it wright to say they are much lighter than the 240. i was told the 240z could weigh as much as the ikelire 125s.

  4. Z240 has exactly the same outer body shell as the D2000, just different chips inside. Except for the color, they look and weigh exactly the same.

  5. Ok thanks i think i know enough

Do you mean the D2000, or the very small S2000 strobes?

The S2000 is very useful for macrophotography, and can work for close-focus wide-angle images, but seems rather less than half as powerful as its big siblings.

  7. Hi Tim

I meant the D2000, in the end i made the move towards the 240s very happy that i did. Beter more bang for your buck.
