Has anybody been able to turn on the Z-220 modeling light with the DR in the Aquatica housing, any housing? The Aquatica looks like it's got a straight pin to pin connection to the 5 pins with no active circuits in between.

  2. Hi Herb

I manage to get the Z220 modelling light to work with the Ikelite Rebel housing on land but not at sea. You might be wondering how I do that with the Digital Rebel in a Ikelite housing. Just by chance I left the flash on the Rebel popped up whilst installing it into the housing. There is just enough space to keep the flash ajar. With the flash activated the camera's focus light will come on in dim light. ETTL flash will also be activate if a very dimly lit or black object is pointed at. The trick is to keep the subject lit by a external light. Would be nice to know if someone know a way to turn off the pre-flashes on the Rebel. The focus light on the camera is just bright enough to trigger Inon's mod light/laser if you use the optic fiber connection. I wanted to test this underwater but had not got the time for my last trip to Puerto Galera at the Philipines. However I did manage to trigger two Inon strobes using the built in flash for my close up wide angle shots. I am busy trying to turn the raw files to jpegs at the moment. Will post some of the results soon.

    Cheers
