  1. I am an idiot an just formatted a CF card with images on that I didn't want to delete.

Can some kind soul please recommenced the best way to see these pictures again: any software recommendations would be really appreciated and any helpful experiences!

    Thanks in advance

    Bob

  2. Don't format it again. I used some freeware software when this happened to me. Will look up the name tomorrow

  3. thanks.

Asked on FB too and the prognosis doesn't seem as bleak as I first thought.

  4. I have used Sandisk RescuePro to recover formatted CF cards, not sure where you can find it as mine came free with the CF card.

There are several other programs out there that do the same thing; you'll just have to look around for them.

Just don't write anything to the card until you've recovered the last set of files, otherwise you risk over writing them.

  5. I use Photo Recovery from LC Technology Intl. Pricey but it works!

  6. So how did you go on? Did you recover anything?

  7. Thank you to all that replied. Fortunately there is a happy ending: I lost 11 images out of about 1000 so am happy with that. There were few nervous moments for a while but the recovery software did the job very well.

    Thank you all

  8. I know most your photos have been saved.. but i just wanted to feel included..

I use 'Recuva' from Filehippo.com its saved me a few times, also does txts, videos, and other formats..i find it works best if you right click and 'run as administrator'.

if and when these things happens best not to use the card again untill you have run some recoverry program,.
