What is everybody's experience using a diffuser on a Z-240

We use the Inon factory diffusers, lowest filtering factor. They tend to smooth out the lighting.
I just purchased a new Z-240. It shipped with 1/2 stop diffusers of different K valuse.
I keep my -0.5 diffusors on pretty much all of the time, and use them to hold a straw filter (cut from a cheap gel sheet) for blue-water photography.
I would guess that they're less important in macrophotography, but I don't bother to take them off (although I often use Inon S2000 strobes, with their diffusors, for macro, anyway).
I use the Diffusers/Filter that warms the Strobes all the time on Wideangle.
It warm up the Color of the Bluewater nicely.
E_Viking what diffusers are you using - name, model.....?
Thanks
okuma. These Color Temperature Conversion Diffusors that I wrote about are marked INON/ 4900K/ -0,5stop or INON/ 4600K/ -0.5stop.
They are warming up the Strobe from 5500K downto 4900K resp. 4600K.
They produce a warmer blue water.

But a bit of straw gel is a lot cheaper...
Well, I would say that 21USD is not that expensive in comparison to the rest of our Equipment :-)

True, but for about $10 I have a sheet of straw gel big enough for every Inon strobe in the UK...
Excuse my ignorance but what is straw gel? I've never heard this term before. Do you put it behind a regular diffuser, and if so do you lose more of the strobe output than if you had one of the Inon "warm" diffusers?
I use the same color correcting INON 4600° filter for the same reason E_Viking already mentioned.
For macro photography i use the original white 0.5 diffuser to soften the shadows/borders.
"Straw Gel" is a thin plastic sheet in various color tones and usually used to change the color of light in concert, theater, movies and photo,
and the they are usually called Gel's and Straw is the tint of the gel.

You really don't lose anything, which is why I use a gel. You can match the colour to the effect (warmer {reddish} gels result in better blues, cooler {bluish} gels in better greens), and it's cheap (Inon -0.5 diffusers cost over $35 each in the UK). It's an idea that I got from Alex Mustard, who explains it best. The commercial version by Inon was discussed here last year.
Thanks all for info..........!
How do you Keep the Gel in place?
I assume that you would use a Diffusor that you already have and put it behind it.
How did you manage to buy it. I tried it, but gave up.
