  1. 12 - 24 and Subal port selection AGAIN, sorry..

Does anyone know what the correct diopter and extension ring combination is for the Nikon 12 - 24 with the OLD Subal FEB fisheye port?

Subal seem to be on some sort of religious retreat at the moment that requires them not to answer emails.

  2. Hi Abowie,

I don't know about the email answering performance of Subal.

I've called them once and they have answered me a lot of questions very well.

Don't know if there maybe could be a little language barrier which takes some time ?!?!

For the diopter: It should be possible to calculate which one you require.

Required values: minimum focusing distance of the lens and the dome diameter / radius.

  3. To be fair to Subal, I did get an answer of sorts today:

    "Dear Sir,

We have to check this combination in our computer. Unfortunately our technician who makes all these drawings is not in the office this week and we have to ask you to be a bit more patient. We will come back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for understanding.

    With best regards,

    Sigrid Stepanek"

  4. so it really sounds like you may expect a definitely agree and precise answer as their expert is calculating the required combination.

I've mailed similar questions to a very big housing builder in comparison to Subal. 14 days later the answer was something like "should be ok with this lens / port, could be some vignetting, we can not say for sure".

So I think you will be informed properly.
