Fuji S2 - does it make sense to buy in Asia

Hi,

First of all, I appologize if this is off topic - I will put the camera into a housing as quickly as I can......

I will probably be relocating to Malaysia this summer. I plan on using this as as excuse to get a new digital camera. Does anyone know how the prices for this in Singapore or Hong Kong compare to the US price?

A lot is based on the exchange rate when you buy overseas and the amount of competition(number of dealers) in a particular country. Having lived in Sing from 93-97, I found underwater gear a bit expensive. You might to look into a Seacam housing from Michael Aw in Sydney, who also has an office in Singapore:www.michaelaw.com. He also runs great dive trips for uw photographers If you haven't dove the Asia region, pick up AustralAsia Scuba Diving magazine, along with Asian Geographic and Asian Diver to read about various dive operations.
