Does anyone have any first hand knowledge or information on how well the following wideangle lens and housing combo work together?
Canon S45 Camera in a WP-DC300 housing
with
a Sea & Sea 20mm Wide Angle Conversion Lens MMII using the correct Sea & Sea Conversion Lens Adapter.
I've read somewhere about some very bad vignetting, but an unsure if it was this exact combination.
Thanks,
BarryT
I use the Sea and Sea 16mm with the conversion lens on my WP-DC100 housing for a digitl elph and it works great. I had a chance to tcest the 20 mm lens as well at Cathy Church's before I bought the 16mm and decided to go with the 16 mm instead for a wider field of view.
It works very well. I do not notice any vigenetting. I haven't measured the FOV but I don't think you get the full 16mm FOV with the secondary lens setup. But the FOV is MUCH bigger than without it--so it does the job for me.
Some things to remember with these lenses. They do not work above water--the image is blurry. In the water its very sharp (for a P&S camera). Also always remember to remove the lens and shake out any air bubbles once you are in the water. Air gets trapped inside the lens and you can see the air bubbles in your pictures if you don't remember to do this. Its easy to do, but too many times I've been too excited once I got in the water to do this and my shots were ruined. Its not appearent on the LCD that this has happenned.
Where did you get the adaptor that allows you to use the sea and sea lens with the housing? I'm trying to find one so I can buy macro lenses. I use the Canon S40 but am not pleased with their macro for shooting the really tiny critters!
I just picked up the 2T macro lens as well. I'll let you know how it works once I've gotten it wet.
