Retro/film burn technique

  1. Hi guys,

Im wanted to try and create a Retro feel to my videos. I edit in Final Cut X. Been trying to use film burns etc but not getting a good result. Any explained steps on how to create this technique would be great!

    Busy with a surf video.

Also does anyone know were i can acquire a hand writing font that gives an Island/beach feel to it?

  2. Have you tried plug-ins like motionVFX or Magic Bullet Looks? Quite adjustable in film and burn etc. There are ways to create specific film burn for each clip in a sequence in Motion. There's quite a bit of work. Another way is to blend film burn effects bought or downloaded from Youtube etc.

As for fonts, google will allow you to find fonts you can buy/download. If you can't find one you like, make your own, either by hiring a designer or do it yourself. Again, it's a bit of work.

  3. Thanks for the tips
