INON “Clear Photo System” or DIY $12 alternative.
I have yet to do any kind of underwater photography, but when I saw the news Item on the main wetpixel home page about INON Clear Photo System I thought I would share a tip that I use with my land based flash photography.
For those that don't know, if you take slide film and have it developed with out the film ever being exposed to light, it will allow Infrared light to pass through. Just tape a piece of this film over your built in flash and the IR will pass through and trip your optical slave flashes. Cost is about $12 for film and development. Or hunt for some scrap leads from your local photo developer. Has to be slide film though, as negatives do not work at ranges behond a foot or so.
Great site BTW. I'm ordering a housing for my wife's Canon A70 and plan to take some underwater photos on our next vacation wich will have a few scuba dives. If I get hooked, then I may be looking for a housing for my Canon 10D! ![]()
