Hi can anyone give me any idea on lens selection for Guadalupe?
I have obviously seen some pictures from there and they appear to get close, but is something like the tokina 10-17 a good option or should I be looking for the widest possible lens? If any exists.
Its difficult for me to visualise how big these sharks get and how close and it is likely to be a one off trip so I want to make the most of it.
Thanks for your time.
The Tokina is a great lens for Guadalupe. I've been to Guadalupe the past 5 years and by far the Tokina is the most common lens used on every trip. Although the sharks get close, you would not want to get any wider. I actually tend to drift closer to the 17mm side of the zoom. You'll enjoy the trip.
Thanks Matt.
I am looking forward to it immensely.
Ditto on the Tokina. Luckily, they have released theTokina AT-X 12-28mmF/4lens, the latest from their AT-X Pro Series. I'd suggest you grab that one. Hope you'll a wonderful trip!
