Fins to the left.. Fins to the right..
And I'm the only kayaker in town... (sorry, saw Jimmy in concert yesterday and I'm still singing his tunes). ![]()
I've hung up my scuba tanks for a while in exchange for lots of physical work, the hot sun at my back and some of the most amazing marine ecosystems I've seen. I've got one spot where I can guarantee (99.999%) you'll see juvenile nurse sharks (saw 10 of them today) - aside from the schools of mullet, silversides, gray snappers, and some amazing colors wrapped around the mangrove roots. I'm finding lots of interesting and new critters. I'm trying to hone my skills photographing some of these critters a-la-split shots and I'll soon have a story put together on my site. For the time being, here are a couple of shots from today's kayak trip...

These little nurse sharks tuck themselves into the sea grass so its hard to photograph them some times.

Gotta catch them on the go.. Not an easy job but it wouldn't be any fun if it wasn't challenging.. right? ![]()

I spend hours just looking around the mangrove roots. I never know what I'll find. Less than a second after I took this picture, a nurse shark swam right under it. Where's the shutter lag when you need it!?!? ![]()
All these were shot with the Olympus 5050 and the Inon dome. What an amazing and fun lens! Maybe its not too late to return my new Nikon D70. ![]()
