  1. Problem with Ikelite DS-50 and manual controller

    Hi,

Recently I bought an Ikelite DS-50 with a manual controller. I have a problem with it.

In the beginning of each dive everything works ok. After about half an hour the pictures begin to turn out dark/black. As far as I can see the flash does fire - it's just that what ever I do, it's way too dark. Next dive it's ok again (for half an hour).

I've used it on two trips: One longer to Sudan, and one shorter to the Swedish west coast. In Sudan (the first trip) I did not notice any problem. In Sweden the half hour routine was repeated on every dive (5). I believe the difference is temperature - the manual controller starts to malfunction after about half an hour of cold water diving. I can see no evidence of leakage or other damage on the flash or the controller.

    Anyone else experienced something similar?

  2. We have no explanation for condition you describe. How long after the dive until it begins to operate correctly? You can see intensity difference between the extreme power settings, and can trip the Controller by waving a flashlight across its sensor. E-mail me at following address:
