I am selling my complete Nikon D70 housed SLR camera system for underwater photography.
This includes just about everything you are ever going to need and is an ideal upgrade from a compact camera setup.
Included in the sale:
Nikon D70 Camera Body.
Well looked after and in perfect condition. Just over 8,000 shutter activations and was serviced by the Nikon agent in Ireland three years ago.
Nikon 60mm f2.8 Macro Lens.
As new condition. Much easier lens to use underwater than longer macro lenses such as the 105mm and gives better than 1:1 image reproduction on a DX sensor camera such as the D70.
Tokina 10 – 17mm f3.5 – 4.5 Fisheye Zoom Lens.
Boxed, as new. These are a really versatile lens for underwater use. Comes complete with the dedicated Sea & Sea zoom gear to operate the zoom lens inside the housing.
Sea & Sea DX-D70 Housing.
A few cosmetic marks which should be visible in the pictures but well looked after, never flooded and in perfect working order. Rated to 60 metres and gives access to all of the camera controls. The housing was converted from a 2-pin strobe connection to a 5-pin strobe connection to provide full TTL flash function using the Sea & Sea TTL adaptor.
Sea & Sea TTL Adaptor III.
As new. Connects between the camera housing and the strobe and fools the camera into thinking that a Nikon Speedlight is connected so it provides full TTL flash exposure control. Has ports for connecting two strobes to the camera and allows the use of any Sea & Sea strobe with a standard Nikonos connector. The TTL adaptor gives a range of adjustment of the flash power output and can be disabled to allow the flash power to be controlled manually.
Sea & Sea NX Custom Flat Port.
A few cosmetic marks which should be visible in the pictures but well looked after, never flooded and in perfect working order. There are a couple of small marks on the front glass but these are not visible in in use. This port has a control in the side to allow you to use a manual focus gear on the 60mm macro lens rather than the autofocus.
Sea & Sea Compact Dome Port and SX Extension Ring.
A few cosmetic marks which should be visible in the pictures but well looked after, never flooded and in perfect working order, complete with protective neoprene cover. There are a couple of small marks on the dome but these are not visible in use. The SX extension ring sits between the camera housing and the dome port to suit the 10 – 17mm lens. The dome port can be used without the extension ring for a shorter fisheye lens such as the Nikon 10.5mm and the extension ring can be used with the flat port for longer macro lenses such as the Nikon 85mm or 105mm macro.
Sea & Sea YS-90 Auto Underwater Strobe.
Some cosmetic marks which should be visible in the pictures but well looked after, never flooded and in perfect working order, complete with removable diffuser. Takes 4 AA batteries, either alkaline or rechargeable. Works either in TTL mode or in manual exposure mode using the power control.
Sea & Sea Flexible Strobe Arms.
Two of these are included, both in excellent condition. These give complete flexibility in positioning the strobe and are lighter than the ball-joint type arms so they are great for travelling.
Sea & Sea 5-pin Sync Cords.
Two of these are included, both in excellent condition, for connecting the strobe to the camera.
Miscellaneous Items.
Two complete sets of O-ring seals and special Sea & Sea silicone grease for the setup.
Memory cards – four 1Gb memory cards (three Sandisk Ultra II, one Lexar) and a 256 Mb card (Fujifilm). The 1Gb cards have a capacity of approximately 150 images when shooting RAW + JPEG at maximum resolution and minimum compression.
Battery and charger for the D70.
Instruction manual, screen guard, spare screen guard and strap for the D70.
This is a very complete setup, ready to go, just assemble and go diving with it. About the only thing you might ever want to add to it at some stage is a second strobe.
With both Sea & Sea and Nikon you are buying into systems that give you excellent upgrade options. The lens ports, strobe and arms included here are compatible with the newer MDX series of camera housings if you want to upgrade the camera body in the future. Similarly with Nikon the lenses are compatible with all Nikon digital SLR bodies and there is a huge range of other lenses available to suit the D70 such as the Nikon 85mm and 105mm macro lenses and the Nikon 10.5mm fisheye lens.
