Fuji S2 Pro in Aquatica Housing - LCD display visibility?

  1. Fuji S2 Pro in Aquatica Housing - LCD display visibility?

I am using a Fuji S2 in an Aquatica housing and I am having trouble seeing the LCD display on the top of the camera when looking through the window on top of the Aquatica. I have set the LCD illumination to come on when any button is pressed but it is not real bright and hard to see underwater in daylight.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I am using a Sea Vision clear bifocal prescription mask and that might be part of the problem. Maybe a new prescription would help.

  2. I'm having the same problem and I don't think it has anything to do with the mask. I can't see it it all underwater and barely can see it on the surface when it's inside the housing and I have 20/20 vision.

I haven't had a chance to see if there's any remedy but I'll post it if I find one.

  3. I don't even bother trying to see the top LCD screen but use the veiwfinder information instead to check aperture etc.

  4. I believe the D100/Aquatica has the same problem......

  5. To be honest the top LCD is probably only viewable when you are night diving (with the LCD lit). I have a D100 Aquatica housing and am considering installing a seperate LED lighting in the housing - as there is quite a bit of space at the bottom (underneath the camera tray) of the housing to fit the batteries - if anyone has done the same can they indicate how successful this has been and how do they trigger the lighting.

    Kind regards

  6. Does anyone know if the Sea & Sea, Nexus or Seacam housings are any better?

  7. You can see the Subal one just fine (for the 10D & D100)...and as far as I know the Nexus d100 works well too.

  8. I us the sea-sea S2pro and I have no problems.I can see the top Lcd very well. When I have the light on it stands out and I find it very easy to read.I just love the housing and I think it is a very well made and well priced housing.
