  1. Let me have it!!!

Any good backscatter removal procedures would be appreciated...

  2. Have you used flash to take this image? This image doesn't have any problems with backscatter from strobe lighting.

The easiest way to get rid of backscatter in flash lit images is with careful positioning of your strobes - so that they illuminate the subject and not the water and suspended sediment between the lens and the subject. There are lots of different tips and probably the easiest way to learn them is from a good UW photographic text book. I'll let others suggest suitable titles.

The other great way of minimising backscatter is not to stir it up with your fins in the first place!

Backscatter can be got rid of in postprocessing in Photoshop. The clone tool or the mend tool are the most popular.

But this image is fine. If it lack anywhere - it is a bit fuzzy and would benefit on you being closer to the subject. this would also help reduce backscatter if you were using flash.

    Hope this helps.
