I am waiting for it.

couldn't wait...

Thanks. I had finally figured out what you meant. I thought about waiting for the pickup lens model, but decided I didn't want to wait - so I ended up buying the Nexus/D100. I'm loving it so far. I'll post one of my first pool pictures below. I'm heading to Bonaire this weekend - should be a good place to get some practice.

Here's my (ex-wife's) pool with the D-100 and 12-24 (if this attachment thing works - my first try here):

Looks like she got the gold mine and you got the shaft

Cool photo CP.
I had a chance to look at the Nexus D70 housing at Seaspace. I've also looked at Craig's Nexus D100 housing.
All in all, I'd say that I prefer the viewfinder on the the D100 housing w/ the viewfinder pickup. The D70 finder is pretty small and just looking through the flat acrylic on the back of the Nexus D70 housing I wasn't too impressed. I'm hoping that Nexus will throw their excellent engineering resources at this one.
Cheers

Yep. If you look, you can see some algae growth in that pool. Breaks my heart.
Oh well... I have my D100; I'm happy.

The only thing I don't like about the D100 pickup lens is the potential to lose those little pieces. Not only are they crazy expensive, but if I lose one while I'm on a dive trip, it is game over as far as using the system goes. I better pickup some spares...

Nexus Housings
Nexus housings utilize a 2-part viewfinder. The first piece is a magnifier attached to the camera (instead of the eyepiece).
The next is a pickup finder, or a standard negative diopter utilized by nearly every other SLR housing on the market.
The magnifier preserves some of the detail lost by the pickup finder, and the pick-up finder tries to keep full frame viewing.
Some macro users, especially those with "tired eyes", prefer the magnified image against the acrylic back plate with no PU finder. While they can't see edge to edge, or see the data at the bottom of the VF without shifting their head, they can confirm fine focus for Macro work.
The Nexus D70 first release will be shipping with no PU finder. Nexus is trying to come up with the best optical combination for dealing with the small d70 viewfinder. Pickup finders will be installed on these housings once available.

I took delivery of the Nexus D70 housing yesterday. Have just had a little play in the pool and shall put her in the water on Wednesday. Its a nice housing, a bit finicky to set up (a pain really), would benefit from a leak alarm, no manual in english is available yet, the lens release button is great. For those using bracket control button you will need to get your tools out as it is not set up for bracketing but can be adjusted to it. The lack of the eye piece I will report on after I have had it in the open water but did not pose any problems in the pool.
Beatifully balanced and very nice "feel".
