Mix and Match strobes? Ds-50 and DS-125?

  1. Mix and Match strobes? Ds-50 and DS-125?

I have a 4040 but am considering selling it and moving up to a 5050 or 5060, In part, I am thinking of doing this to get the TTL. I have a DS-50 strobe. Would there be a problem in getting a DS-125 as the second strobe? If I do, any particular issues I should be concerned about? Or would it be better to just a second DS-50? Thank you for any responses.

I doubt that it will be any problem...think you will need a dual strobe cable from Oly and a Ikelite housing as well... DS-125 offers modeling light which DS-50 does not. might be a good idea to get the DS-125

Maybe Ike would be in better position to answer your questions

  3. If you're going to shoot TTL exclusively, you might as well get another DS-50. If you want to be able to control your lighting better, either get theDS-125, or consider getting another DS-50 and manual controllers for both of them.
