Batteries on S2 and auto switch off

  1. Batteries on S2 and auto switch off

    Dear Friends,

When i forgot to switch off the camera it consumes all the CR132A batteries, I have autoswitch off on, but it seems that it does not work.

Do you have the same problem?

    Regards from Spain,

    Escalar.

  2. hi escalar,

to solve your problem, simply put out your CR, load AA battery and turn on the S2, it will work as usual

the explication is that your camera can work with loaded or without Cr BUT not with empty CR in it

I always shoot WITHOUT any CR , it s expensive, and worse of all , you CAN T say when they ll be empty (don t count on the battery signal on the F80 screen), but once underwater, you won t be able to put them out to make work your S2 again

Just have to buy serious AA battery (76 shots with my UNIROSS 2300 mAh)

  3. Yes, if you leave the camera on with the CR123's in place, even though it will sleep, it will drain those batteries. It just happened to me last week in fact.

I pulled them out and shot the camera with only the AA's as I normally do. But I couldn't use the pop-up flash with that camera, which was a drag as it's nice for fill-flash when shooting topside.

    Cheers

    James

  4. Flash without batteries at the camera body...

    Thank you for your information,

I have take off the batteries and tried the camera with the SB800 speedligth, without these batteries the speedlight only works in TTL mode, it is not possible to work on manual mode.

So, I do not have yet a housing so i am not able to test with a flash conectected to the shoe....For instance, with a Ikelite DS125 will it work in manual mode?

    Regards,

    Escalar.

  5. My SB28DX will work in ANY mode when connected to the S2, whether the camera has the CR123a batteries installed, or not.

That is strange about your SB800. Want to trade? :-)

    Cheers

    James
