  1. Inon Z-220 film camera TTL (Nikon & Canon)

    Hi,

Has someone used the Inon Z-220 with film cameras? I consider the strobe for my NikV and housed Canon EOS film camera. In the future with Heinrichs E-TTL Converter.

As I understood, beside the Nikon TTL protocol the flash also supports Canon TTL, is that correct?

Does the standard Nikon Nikonos SB-104 Sync cord fit into the Z-220 socket?

    thank you

    Julian

  2. sorry, I meant the SB-105 sync cord. don't know if it is identical with the SB-104.

So I have the SB-105 cord.

  3. The Z220 has a Sea and Sea socket, so no, your cord will not connect.

    Sincerely,

    James Wiseman

  4. Thank you James.

So there are two different Sea & Sea cords, one which often is named /S and the /N Cord. I guessed the /N for Nikonos would be compatible as this is also the way to use sea & sea strobes with the nikonos. Inon says Sea & Sea /N cord. But I guess I am completely wrong.

What cord to use to connect the strobe to a standard nikonos 5 pin camera/housing?

    thanks a lot,

    Julian

  5. The Inon strobes use Sea and Sea cords, as stated. The connector at the strobe end is always the same (for Inon or Sea and Sea strobes) but the connector to the camera/housing port is different.

The /N is for Nikonos 5-pin type ports - Nikonos and Motormarine III cameras, and most housings

The /S is for Sea & Sea 4-pin type ports, for Sea & Sea MMII and MMII-EX Cameras

Hope that helps ........ Linda I.

  6. Dear Linda,

yes, it helps. thank you very much. now I got it.

I misunderstood that maybe the flash end of the cord could be identical (Nikonos and Sea&Sea), because the pin arrangement looked very similair.

Do you know if there is a sync cable availabe which offers 5 static pins at the camera end? Normally Nikonos bulkhead sockets have 2 with springs but my seacam housing has all of them static.

    thank you and greetings,

    Julian

  7. Sorry, now you are beyond my knowledge. Someone with a Seacam housing should be able to help you. Otherwise, contact Stephen Frink Photography - they are the US Seacam distributor and should be able to tell you what sync cord you need.

  8. hey Linda,

I've called Seacam directly in Austria (just around the corner) and the can supply a cable adapter with 2 springed pins on request.

    thank you again,

    regards,

    Julian
