Diving in the Middle East

  1. Hi All

I will be in Dubai for the month of April next year for work, and am looking to add a personal dive trip at the end of it for for a week or so.....any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Brett

  2. I am, by no means an expert, having only dived in one area with one dive operator, but I definitely enjoyed my diving with Dive Aqaba, in Aqaba, Jordan. However, that's my only direct experience. Others here can provide much more information, though.

  3. If you want something close by I can only suggest a trip over to Oman; Extra Divers have a base in Khasab (Musandam), and while I haven't been there it looks amazing. Only 2.5 hours drive away. What I have done before is a safari on the Saman Explorer - the only dive boat in the South of Oman, you couldn't get much more peace and quiet, and you can hear the humpbacks sing during dives. Apologies for the not so great pics, it was my first trip with the E-M5 and generally very near the beginning of me taking pics underwater: https://plus.google.com/u/0/+FabianSchorp/posts/D3JhL2Vtguu

If you're willing to travel a little further: Ras Mohammed and the Strait of Tiran (near Sharm El Sheik) is 6.5 hours away and mind-blowing. Hurghada is about the same distance. And... Well... Male is a 4 hour flight.

  4. Hi Fellas

Many thanks for taking the time to respond.....enjoy the festive season.

    Cheers

    Brett.
