Buying first strobe (Canon 60D and Fuji F30)

2 posts
  1. Hi all,

I'm looking to buy my first strobe and I would like to get one that would fit both my cameras. (Fuji F30 with WP-FXF30 and Canon 60D with Ikelite housing)

My main focus is of course the DSLR but it would be nice to be able to use it with compact as well.

I'm currently looking at Sea&Sea YS-D1, but cannot immediately see if that would work with F30. The compatibility chart doesn't list even Canon 60D let alone F30

    http://www.seaandsea.jp/products/strobe/compatibilitychart/a.html

It's clear that YS-D1 can be used in slave mode so is there any reason why it wouldn't work with F30? Wouldn't the main point be that when internal flash is triggered, so is the external one?

    Or am I missing something?

  2. It will certainly work the the 60D, and also with the F30 (fiber optic). The D1 has TTL, and multiple pre flash cancel so no worries.

    Bill
