  1. There is a new adapter surface that will allow people who has Canon lens use their glass on MFT body with autofocus capability, and only $300!!!!:

Also, if GH4 get the V-log profile, there is a potential of gaining 2-stop dynamic range?

If that's the case, that would bring GH4 close to 15 stops of dynamic range. Perhaps it's time to look into color grading? Or dynamic range is not that important when come to underwater video?

  2. The GH4 sensor will give you 12stops - TOTAL. (see the DXO results - 12.8 - this is RAW too) - 15, would be amazing, but the GH4 is no BM or Alexia :)

While I'm looking forward to playing with the V-LOG-L - it will be much more noisy than any previous color profile (as the 2 stops have to come from somewhere) So for dark underwater footage, I think it will be a wait and see. Apart from the noise, for grading it should be much better! (you never know, we might be able to get Canon blues out of it :) )

    Good info,

I've never fond of adapter, they are ok with manual focus with peaking. But with AF not much. I've been spoiled with 5DM3 and their L lenses AF, using adapter was just never be the same.

I look forward for the new V-Log-L, hopefully Panasonic do not charge any $ to get them. But if they do, I might still get them if the review is ok.

Any info weather this new log profile only work in certain ISO like the SONY's?

The Adapter with AF is just show that it's possible to get it done, that probably will push the people at Metabone to come up with a speedbooster that has AF capability. Using speedbooster will make the lens faster and wider, so there is advantage. I think once the adapter with AF capability exist, then housing manufacturer would be more interested to make port adapter. There is a great market for this as people are holding on to their Canon L lens but want the super low light performance of the Sony A7S, or the 4K capability of the GH4.

Regarding the V-Log, the new GH4 firmware is due to release tomorrow, but whether it will have V-Log or not, that's still a rumor. If they package a V-Log lite with the new firmware, then it probably will take a week or two for the community to review it..... ah, the wonder of internet, no need to wait for Magazine to do review :mocking:

  5. A speedbooster with AF, IS and Aperture control - would be utterly amazing. That Sigma F1.8 - OMG.... lets hope eh!!!

RE the firmware. V2.2 will have Anamorphic modes and the new faster shutter speed - but no V-LOG-L. Sadly :(

Now where did I leave my Cooke Anamorphic /i 25mm... oh yes thats right.... in my dreams!!!

  6. Looks like there is a new color profile in the new firmware, they refer it as "LOG", very informative comment in this video, so I suggest you watch it in Youtube website and browse the comment under the video:
