  1. Fuji S2 pro, first dive...first photos

Hi guys! First dive and first photos! Using my new Fuji S2 pro with Sea & Sea DX S2 and Ys90 DX Duo...no problems at all and good bouyancy.

For fisrt dive a hard job; shooting in macro mode using 60 micro nikkor. For first time i'm very happy maybe for the second dive i will reach better results :-)! I hope... :-)

  2. Hi Erik,

Thanks for sharing. I have the S2pro and I love it.

I like the composition on this shot:

I'm surprised his "lips" aren't in focus though. What f-stop were you using?

    Cheers

    James

  3. F 5,6

Yes is true, for my first time with macro i have tried some shots with differents modes (P, A ecc.) and i'm not sure about best results. In this picture F was at 5,6 Do you have some idea to help me? I would like to have more contrast alnd also more space in focus. Next dive i will use only P mode with hight F number (22)....do you think it will be a good idea?

    Thanks! :-)

    ERIK

  4. NO! You should never use P mode underwater. The camera doesn't know it's underwater and it will adjust its settings assuming you are on land = bad.

F5.6 is not a good setting for the type of shots you posted.

For macro mode with the S2, use F16-F22 with the shutterspeed set at 1/125th for starters. That will give you better contrast and less overexposure. If you shots are too dark, then use the Flash+/- and adjust it to +1.0

    Cheers

    James

  5. Manual mode?

Thank! So if i'm right you teach me to use M mode and set exposure and time manually..and if necessary +- flash. Do you use sometimes S mode? And when you sho wit 12-24 mm how do you manage exposure and setting?? thank you a lot for informations and HELP

  6. Hi Erik,

These are all basic photography questions that you can learn by picking up a book or doing a search here at Wetpixel. It's not something I can explain in a message board posting - people teach whole classes about this.

    Sincerely,

    James Wiseman
