I´m waiting for my PTO-023 housing and I´m thinking of yousing a Ikelite DS-125 strobe. What connection is the best?
I whant to be able to take a picture fast and I also whant to be able to set the strobe power manual. Is there a connection that makes it possible to switch from TTL to manual mode?

I don't think you can use the connection on the PT-023 housing to connect any strobe except the Olympus FL-20
With that said, I think you can accomplish what you want using a slave strobe/sensor setup, but I'll let the "slave experts" chime in here as I'm strictly a "wired" guy...:-)

Thanks James
Anyone how knows the best solution using the Sensor/slave thing
Hi Johann,
[Edited by Admin]
tomorrow I get an Inon Z220 for testing, next week Matthias Heinrichs gets it to test his Canon 300D Konverter with !!!
we hope all works well (:-))
In autum perhaps there will be an Nicon E - TTL Konverter ........

Johann, you will not be able to achieve TTL with any underwater strobe while using the PT-023 housing. You will need either Ikelites EV (manual) Controller for the DS125 or a fibre optic sync cable if using Inon or Sea & Sea. If you really want TTL with the C8080 then you should have gone with the Ikelite housing which does give true TTL when hard wired to the DS125.
PT-023, Ike wireless TTL sensor, and Ike DS-125 combo should work. Still, I opted for Ike housing and sync cord.
Thanks for the advice
I have canceled the PT-023 house and I´m going for the Ikelite house.
Which strobe Is the best for that house? Is it better to use an Ikelite strobe with the Ikelite house or is it just as good as Sea&Sea and Inon?

The Ikelite DS 50 and DS 125 strobes have the advantage of being able to operate in TTL mode when used with the Ikelite housing. This is a big plus for both new and experienced users.
It was a good decision to go with the Ikelite housing. This will give you wired TTL and 4 manual settings of control with the DS125.
If you had stuck with the (goofy looking) Olympous housing you still could have used Ikelite's TTL controller with the DS125 to get "pretty good" slave TTL and 4 manual power settings to play with. You could block off the internal strobe to reduce backscatter with some aluminum foilf inside the housing and trigger the TTL with the reflected light. You still then have the problem of battery drain and internal fogging due to heating. The Ikelite housing was a better way to go.
I think the DS125 and DS50 are the only strobes that get TTL with Ikelite's housing. Ikelite offers a sync cord to connect to S&S and inon but I think these do not have TTL pins so they do not work with TTL.
