I am looking into a liveaboard charter around the Andaman and Nicobar islands. Just thought I'd ask here if anyone has been around this area and if you can let me know your thoughts on the reefs, the macro life, the fish life, any big fish encounters, lush anchorages, culturally interesting places etc.
Thanks,
Graham
Dear Graham,
I am a fellow marine photographer based in Mumbai, India and have extensively dived the Andaman and Nicobar Islands personally and on assignment for a coffee table book on marine images as well as a Fish Id book. There is only one liveaboard operator plying these waters from the Andamans. For some bureaucratic Govt. issues i believe they can only accommodate 8 divers at a time. What is your group size ? Some dive sites 6-7 are really excellent with one muck dive site. Some are good. There is also some great diving off Barren Islands etc. If you need help with booking this do let me know. I am currently working on a package for some south american divers but which is land based from Havelock Islands. Along with my partners who own a dive shop in India for the longest time http://www.barracudadiving.com/index.phpwe also arrange group dive trips for Indian divers all over the world via http://scubacentric.com/ So do let me know some more specifics and i could help the best i can ? You may mail me at diggydesai@hotmail.com. Attaching some uw images from Andamans.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Diggy
Diggy,
Thanks for the info you have provided. I will be diving the Andamans in Feb/Mar, 2016 via live aboard.
Your pictures are beautiful. The diving looks amazing, and I cannot wait for the opportunity to photograph these sites.
That's great :-) We have a group trip in FEB 2016 with 14 participants. This is land based though. Good luck and let me know if you need any info, help etc.
