Whale Shark at Darwin, full-frame fisheye (no cropping)
Sea Lion at Cousin's Rock
Typically poor shots, Cheng.
Just had a cruise through your journal. Awesome.
Have you thought about converting the UW San Cristobal sealions (BTW - I like the hooked above water one too) to black and white images. I think that they would work well especially because the background is light enough to get it close to white.
I also think that white tip in the Cave at Wolf is an interestingly different image. V clean too - caves are normally tough on backscatter. The blurry turtle needs a smoother panning technique, though.
I'm very impressed by how sharp alot of your sealion pictures are - so many sealion shots are too blurry.
Jealous, as always,
Alex
thanks, alex.
the turtle shot was not planned properly. it was just SO DARK after coming out of the cage at dusk. i didn't have time to think about the shot -- and thus, crappy pan. i'll have to work on the technique, as i almost never do it.
i was impressed at the sharpness of the sealion shots as well. i thought they would come out blurry.

that's a great idea, Alex. i'll have to try it.
i wish I had loaded a new battery in for that checkout dive. it would have been easy to shoot off 50 shots of them playing around. instead, i shot 4 and kept 2.
