  1. Dive and snorkling trip

    Hey

Next year sometime between mars-may, me and my friend will go to an dive trip. My friend wont dive, but he will snorkel. Do anybody know a good place to dive and snorkel. I don´t want a live aboard, but a dive safari would be great, so that you live on different Islands with unlimited snorkeling and diving from the shore.

I love big Fishes (ex Sharks, dolphins, mantas, turtles and murrays)

I have looked at a dive safari in borneo, where you go to Sipadan, Mabul and Roach Reef. I know that It´s a good place for diving, but is it also good for snorkeling?

  2. Maldives ?

    Hi Johan,

Have you considered the Maldives ? There are plenty of dive resorts to choose from and many have housereefs that make snorkelling an excellent alternative to diving. Fish life on many of these reefs is abundant, with Picasso Triggerfish, Morays, Parrotfish, Unicornfish, Lionfish, Stingrays, and Blacktip Reef Sharks some of the examples I've seen while snorkelling at the resort between dives.

I'm not sure about dolphins, but diving with sharks, turtles, mantas and morays is also possibility in the Maldives.

While diving is possible year-round, April is the transition period between the NE and SW Monsoons, so calm, windless days are more likely to be encountered that month, which seems to fit nicely with your schedule.

  3. You may give Rangiroa, French Polynesia a try. Nice lagoon, lots of big critters, great day trips in the lagoon to Blue Lagoon, Pink Sand beach.

However, as is French Polynesia tis a bit pricey.

Have a look at Tahiti Tourism website, will be listed in Google
