Clam in Florida

  1. Hi all,

I'm curious to learn what type of clam this is. I'm just starting out with underwater photography and I'm loving it! I accidently found this guy (or girl) when I turned my focus light on and something moved. It looks like a clam but I can't figure out which one it is? Granted I'm new at searching for critters I find!

Please let me know if you can help and also please let me know if I should post more information about this!

  2. Looks more like a scallop to me (note the eyes). Do you have a pic of the shell?

  3. Oh... I'm glad I posted here if it's a scallop as I just don't know what it is. i have two other images, however they are a bit further away. The shell was covered with sand / debris as seen as above or it was just buried really well. To be honest I couldn't make out the shell and I watched it for about 10 minutes. I didn't want to touch it either. I took a video too if that helps? It kept opening and closing it's and it was the size of an iPad mini approximately

  4. I love all those lovely blue eyes.......
