Strobe Adapters

  1. Hey Everyone,

I have a problem, the camera im shooting with has a sea and sea Duo (5pin) connection and my strobe has a sea and sea 4 pin connection, does any one know of any adapters that are on the market to make this change for me? I would need a male connection for both.

    Thanks Kenny

  2. Can you provide a little more detail?

I am guessing you mean that your camera housing has a 5 pin Nikonos style bulkhead and you have a very old YS50s or ys60s strobe which has an attached 4 pin motormarine cable? These strobes are worth about $10.

I am not aware of any adapter. You could buy a 5 pin cable, disassemble the strobe and replace the 4 pin cable with a 5 pin cable.

This link shows common pinouts for old strobes http://www.camerasunderwater.co.uk/articles/engineering/ttl-flash

Unless you are very handy, you would likely be better off to just buy a newer strobe.
