Malaysian Gov't Final Orders: Get off Sipadan Island

Been coming for a very long time and all the operators knew it. Borneo divers built a resort on Mabul for that very reason. Any operator who has no alternative to Sipadan has himself to blame.

Day trips to Sipadan are easy and the resorts have boats that allow two-dive trips. It's plenty easy to dive there without a resort on the island and the resorts on Sipdan were poor anyway.

I also question the estimate of only 30% living coral. That's nowhere near right. Still, divers only stand to gain with this move and I see no reason to choose one resort to leave open.
