I just got my ax100 with gates housing and I was wondering what lights I should get with it. As my budget is quite tight at the moment (roughly 500-600) I was wondering what you people would suggest? Id like to get 2 lights or would you only suggest 1 with the amount of money. Ive seen some cheap ones on ebay, but not sure if they are any good compared with sola s or so. Or no lights at all and save more money first? Ill be shooting wa and macro. Thank you

What lights for an AX100?

Hi, first of all, I would definitely get 2 lights. I am using the Fix Neo 3000 DX with my AX100 / Gates combo and am quite happy with them. Very light and compact, can be charged without removing the battery. They may be a bit above your quoted budget but I would not go much lower than 3000 lumen. For wide angle shots they are badly needed in most cases.
As the next upgrade step I am having the updated Keldan 4x on my wishlist. They have 7000 Lumen in a compact housing but are also almost twice as expensive as the Fix Neo.... so I'd start out with the Neo's
I would be very cautious about any cheap no name ebay knockoffs. As you have this fantastic setup it would be a pity to take cheap lights as your footage would suffer.

Thanks for your reply!
Yer the Neo´s seem great! But as you said as well, way above my current budget. Guess have to save up some more and buy some decent ones. Or maybe some pre owned ones.
Gonna be without lights then, to start off with. If anyone is selling something let me know!
