Problems with Canon G15 and Ikelite Housing

  1. Hi, wondering if anyone else has had these problems with a Canon G15 and Ikelite housing......and if they managed to fix them...

    - The function knob on the top of the housing will not grip the function wheel on the camera so I cannot switch modes whilst the camera is in the housing

    - The knob on the back right hand side of the housing will not grip the wheel on the rear right hand side of the camera

Any tips on how to fix these would be appreciated as even to send the housing back to Idaho is going to cost me over $250. That's without the service charge.

  2. I have the G16 so very similar. Also had the issue before.

Maybe a stupid question but are you aware that the knob is adjustable so that the shafts can protrude deeper into the housing causing more pressure and friction?

A quick job with the allen key and problem solved for me.

It does seem to move slightly after a few uses so I have had to adjust a few times.

  3. There are also washers that can sometimes be removed to allow the knob to protrude deeper into the housing. I have had to do this with a couple of mine as the soft padding has moved/worn
