Inon 240 Z help

3 posts
  1. I have powered up two Inons that have not been used for three years.

    The units fires correctly.

But when powered up, the spotting lights on both come on and flicker.

Moving the light switch in and out will not effect the light.

My thinking is over time some corrosion has formed in the switch pocket.

How can I clean this without fully dis-assembling the strobe?

  2. The two push buttons that control the focus light and pre-flash sync both have little magnets in them that corrode. These buttons can be unscrewed and I've even replaced some.

  3. Here's the advice I received from Backscatter previously that helped me get my Inon Z240 buttons off:

"...with the magnet popped up you will need to unscrew the whole assembly. Turn it counter clockwise and then you will see the magnet is part of the assembly, you might have a bunch of buildup on the magnet that you can wipe off."

I think I used a pair of needle-nose pliers to grip the button stem.
