I would like some information for diving in The Farne Islands with seals. Information like when to go, or what diving center to choose would me much appreciated.
Taking in consideration that I am from Spain I would like to maximize the probability of calm sea and that stuff.
I wrote an email to a diving center of the zone but no answer at all.
Thank you very much.
It is quite fun, so it is a good choice. There are quite a few operators. I've no idea anymore with what boat I went. Most of them are leaving from the village Seahouses. Since it is northern England, there is no season that will guarantee you flat sees. I went mid September and that was alright. Bring a dry suit.
I hasten to add that many of the members there are very friendly and will offer you any help you might need.
I go to the Farnes every year and Wetpixel has run trips there in the past.
If people are interested, I will run another one...
All the best
Adam
We dived the Farnes Islands in April, freezing! Snowed whilst on the boat. Dived with http://www.sovereigndiving.co.uk/farnes.html , they have a really nice guest house in Seahouses. Apart from the seals I found it a bit boring, we moved up to St Abbs which was much more interesting.. Anemone alley was the most colourful reef i've ever seen in the UK.. Used http://divestabbs.com/
Thank you guys for the information. I will follow your recommendations and take a look at the fb page and the link you post johnhuk.
I sometimes think that I’m travelling too far away, when I have quite near very interesting places to dive.
Cheers.
My inlaws are about an hour and a half off Seahouses, so if there is a wetpixel trip there I am interested.
