Cool image.
I'd suggest it's just slightly "flat".
Are you editing using Lightroom? If so, I'd suggest going into Develop>Basic then holding the Shift key and double-clicking "Whites" and then "Blacks" and see what that does. Or, alternatively, try Effects>Dehaze and increase the setting to the right - and then you might need a touch more exposure.
I don't have editing software yet. Flat was in straight pic? You mean I could have lowered the camera?

Sorry, no. By "flat" I meant that the range of shades, from black to white, in the image is rather compressed. So there are no real black Blacks, nor white Whites. This tends to make an image looked unlively or "flat". An editing program such as Adobe Lightroom (maybe the most popular for photographers) or Photoshop or Photoshop Elements gives you options for making these changes plus other settings such as Dehaze, Saturation and Clarity which can all help overcome "flat".
Hope this helps.
Camera positioning looks pretty good to me.
Since TimG is a moderator, I can't hit the "like this" button on his post, but I would echo his comments. I rather like the composition, but it needs a bit more snap. His suggestions ought to help. Good luck.
I agree also. Try for more dynamic range with darker blacks and brighter highlights. You could also play with the white balance as it looks a bit too green to me.
In lieu of an editing program on your computer, if you've got this image on your phone, look for a photo app such as Snapseed or Polar.
