If these are your first UW Pictures, you obviously have talent. Congratulations !
Next time, try to get closer to the subjects (Dsc00203.jpg - Giant Moray), try shooting some macros (the P5 has a macro mode, doesn't it ?) and watch your display /composition. I've seen some cut off fish that could have been avoided (Dsc00184.jpg).
Crop the 2 pictures of the zebra shark, the pictures will still be big enough afterwards but look better.
Remember to take pictures of tall subjects in portrait mode (Dsc00268.jpg - Sawtooth Featherstar)
Dsc00308.jpg - Common Lionfish is turned upside down in the gallery.
Grey reef sharks are hard to shoot and yours is clearly visible in the original ![]()
My favorite picture is Dsc00340.jpg - Forsters Hawkfish

Hey Sabine,
thx for your input.
Macro mode:
In deed, the camera features a so called macro mode. But the min distance of 10 cm (wa) an 60 cm (tele) is substandard. Nevertheless u are right, i can get a bit closer.
lionfish:
I have looked for the original shot on the memory stick - the fish is in the right position. Or maybe I should hold the camera in the upright position :-)
talent:
Although being an experienced diver and photographer, it was very hard for me to coordinate all the things under water like buoyancy, camera settings and composition. I am looking forward to my next holidays in the Maldives, where i can expect an extra portion of currents.

Great Photos with your P-5!!! What kind of lighting did you use if I may ask? I recently purchased the P-9 set-up with 45w marine pak video light instead of the recommended 20w light, but I am having challenges with blurred images. The P-9 and P-5 are the same system save for the megapxls, have you had similiar experiences with the blurred shots? Last thing!!! Do you use auto focus (spot vs wide) or SET the focus for fixed length? I read (somewhere) that autofocus is difficult through the front lens housing. I am attempting to post a link to some of my shots...Yours are beautiful!
Be kind to the Honu!
Joe
Hi Joe,
i didn't use any additional light.
Except the macro shots all pictures are taken without strobe.

sorry, but I didn't mention that don't have any trouble with the autofocus.
Finally i think it is hard to manage, when you set a fixed distance. It is too complicated to adjust the camera for each shot.
