I have a Inon UWL-100 on an Ikelite housing with an Oly 4040.
I've gotten really good results with it that I can no longer reproduce. Instead of wide angle shots I'm getting serious distortion in all but the middle of the image.
I have to believe that I should have the camera wide but actually zoomed, or perhaps it's an f-stop issue.
How should this thing be used?

If you zoom with the wide angle you will get serious blurring. Higher f stops will reduce, but not eliminate the blurring.
Bottom line: Do not zoom with the wide angle lens on the camera.
Note: With the INON dome you can zoom and get only a minor amount of blurring in the corners.
No problem!
Hi Irwin
I have the Inon UWL-100 attached to my Canon S45 with Canon WP-DC300 housing. I have no experience of any blurring/distortion throughout the full zoom range of the camera.
I have recently bought the Inon UCL-165 macro lens and have found all the images (zoomed or not) to have perfect centre focus with blurred edges. I think this is because the S45 has a smallest aperture of f8 which does not really give the depth of field needed. So the lens was a bit of a waste of money with this camera!
But again, not even a hint of a problem with the wide angle! I often zoom with the wide angle for shy subjects. Being a relative amatuer I have no solution for you, save to suggest it might not be the lens.
Regards
Jean.
Yep - staying wide did it. I don't know why I didn't realize that last I tried. Thanks.
